Welcome to our March Auction #363. We continue to offer some lots from the marvelous estate of Keith Stupell; his lots are marked “ex-Stupell” or “ex-libris Stupell” and sprinkled throughout the sale; Expect much more in future auctions.

We have many literature lots in this sale, many are from the Keith Stupell estate and the final batch from the Sergio Sismondo reference library.

We begin on Tuesday, March 10th with a good variety of US cover lots, including Arkansas postal history, Naval covers and more Dorothy Knapp FDCs. Our foreign covers are from a variety of countries, including German Feldpost and accumulations.

The US section has many F Grill stamps and later plate blocks. We continue to offer material from a Ryukyu Islands specialized collection, including Election postal cards and Currency Conversion errors.

US collections incl face value & plate block lots, state revenues, general accumulations, plus seven collections with estimates over $1K; we offer a variety of Ephemera lots incl cigarette cards, autographs of famous persons, sports cards and mystery lots.

As usual, we have worldwide singles, country lots, topicals & accumulations. There are also some larger groups in this sale including specialized Belgium, Canada, China PRC, French Polynesia and numerous worldwide lots.

We begin on Tuesday, Jan 6th with a good variety of US cover lots, including many naval covers, Civil War related, and more Dorothy Knapp & other cacheted FDCs. Our foreign covers are from a variety of countries, including FDCs.

The US section is dominated by a large number of Washington-Franklins with certificates, as well as well-centered popular issues from Large Banknotes to Fourth Bureaus. We offer additional material from a Ryukyu Islands specialized collection including essays and all five Provisional issues.

US collections incl many face value & sheets lots, general accumulations, Back of the Book, plus several collections with estimates over $1K

As usual, we have worldwide material, with larger groups of Canada, Japan and Turkey. Once again, we are proud to offer lots consigned by the APS, a total of 51 this sale including many country lots w/ new issue stocks and topicals. A big thank you to all our consignors and bidders!

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, we present the second part of the Keith Stupell Collection, the amazing estate of the late collector from New York City and State College. Keith’s eye for the interesting and unusual, plus a talent for putting together collections that tell a story, creates a wonderful opportunity for collectors and dealers alike. His focus was on all things Germany – postage stamps, proofs & essays, postal history, picture postcards, poster stamps & ephemera. Besides regular mint stamp collections, his topical focus was on German history & culture, the Colonies, and the history of both World Wars, from the turbulent times leading up to each, wartime occupations and liberations, and post-war conditions.

Our Coin & Currency Sale #44 offers collectors a nice selection of early copper and Certified better-date Lincoln Cents including a 1914-S MS64. Also of note is the continuation of offerings of Bust Halves consigned by a St. Louis collector. As usual, there are items from just about all series. We have a wide range of silver and gold bullion items as well as a wonderful group of Morgan & Peace Dollars. Mint and Proof Sets are also well represented.
The highlights of this auction include a complete set of Certified Recalled 1941 Panama paper currency and an 1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Gold Medal with AGW of 2.74 ozt (mintage of 3,725).

This sale offers collectors a nice selection of certified better-date Lincoln Cents (including an uncertified 1955 Double Die) most coming from a prominent Delaware collection.  Also important is continuation of offerings of Bust Halves consigned by a St. Louis collector. Seated Quarters are well-represented from a recent New Jersey purchase.  Per the norm, a wide range of silver and gold bullion items are in the sale, as well as a wide range of Morgan Dollars.  A number of offset transfer errors highlight the small-size currency section, and spicing up the worldwide offerings is a broad selection of Notgeld (mostly German.)  As usual, something for everyone!

Our Coin & Currency Sale #42 contains some nice early copper, a 1909-S VDB and a 1922 no D Lincoln Cent. Seated Dimes and Seated Quarters are well represented in addition to a wide array of Bust Halves from a recent consignment from St. Louis. The sale is rounded out by an offering of Morgan Dollars, many of them from the Carson City Mint. As usual, there are offerings from just about all series including a nice selection of U.S. gold coins, bullion items, mint/proof sets and medals. Our April Coin & Currency Sale #40 includes a well-rounded selection of coins across the board from US Half Cents thru Foreign Gold. Our Sale #357 in March starts off the 2025 spring philatelic season.

The sale begins on Tuesday, March 11th with a good variety of US covers & postal stationery lots including advertising covers, locals and a Canal Zone UF1a registered envelope. Our Foreign covers selection showcases some German WWII air covers from the Aegean and other Feldpost, Italian Offices and other accumulations.

The US section highlights include many Classics with certificates such as #13 used(graded 95!), 28A used, 130 Re-issue, 404 NH; a nice group of Grills, the Trailer Permit Stamp RVT2 used at Yellowstone and more.

Coin & Currency Sale #39 is highlighted by a wide selection of scarce Liberty Seated Quarters and Halves from a recent estate liquidation. Included among the quarters are 1855-O (PCGS F-15), 1857-S (NGC AU53), 1858-O (PCGS XF45), 1864-S, 1870-CC, 1871-CC, & 1872-S.  The halves include 1844-O Doubled Date, 1866-S No Motto, & 1871-CC among many others.  The numerous gold offerings include a mint state 1878 $3 Princess (NGC MS61), and the very scarce 1859 $10 Liberty (NGC AU55).  Modern issues offer a 2016 Centennial Mercury Dime and  1991 4-Coin Gold Eagle Proof Set both in original packaging.  In addition to these, the auction is rounded out by an outstanding number of nice type coins, type set groupings, silver and gold foreign coins, mint and proof sets, and more.  This auction is one of the highest in terms of gross value so be sure to review the lots!
