On Thursday, November 13, 2025, we present the first part of the Keith Stupell Collection, the amazing estate of the late collector from New York City and State College. Keith’s eye for the interesting and unusual, plus a talent for putting together collections that tell a story, creates a wonderful opportunity for collectors and dealers alike. His focus was on all things Germany – postage stamps, proofs & essays, postal history, picture postcards, poster stamps & ephemera. Besides regular mint stamp collections, his topical focus was on German history & culture, the Colonies, and the history of both World Wars, from the turbulent times leading up to each, wartime occupations and liberations, and post-war conditions.

Our November auction #361 is ready for your bidding pleasure.

We begin on Tuesday, November 11^th with a good variety of US cover lots, including many advertising covers, covers w/ auxiliary markings, Dorothy Knapp covers and postal stationery from US & Possessions. Our foreign covers are from a variety of countries, including German Feldpost.

The US section is dominated by a large number of Plate Blocks. We offer additional material from a Ryukyu Islands specialized collection, especially proofs.

US collections incl face value lots, press sheets, general accumulations, Duck stamp stocks, plus several collections with estimates over $1K; we offer interesting Ephemera lots incl cigarette cards & other tobacciana, trade cards, baseball cards and mystery lots.

As usual, we have worldwide singles, country lots, topicals & accumulations. There are also some larger groups in this sale including Italy & Switzerland stock, Schleswig, Norway and British Commonwealth.

This sale offers collectors a nice selection of certified better-date Lincoln Cents (including an uncertified 1955 Double Die) most coming from a prominent Delaware collection.  Also important is continuation of offerings of Bust Halves consigned by a St. Louis collector. Seated Quarters are well-represented from a recent New Jersey purchase.  Per the norm, a wide range of silver and gold bullion items are in the sale, as well as a wide range of Morgan Dollars.  A number of offset transfer errors highlight the small-size currency section, and spicing up the worldwide offerings is a broad selection of Notgeld (mostly German.)  As usual, something for everyone!

The US section highlights many 20th century plate blocks ranging from 2¢ Trans-Miss to the Prexies, Fermented Fruit Juice revenues, EFOs and more. We offer the first part of a large Ryukyu Islands specialized collection from a long-term collector, especially Currency issue varieties, Provisionals & revenues.

Our Coin & Currency Sale #42 contains some nice early copper, a 1909-S VDB and a 1922 no D Lincoln Cent. Seated Dimes and Seated Quarters are well represented in addition to a wide array of Bust Halves from a recent consignment from St. Louis. The sale is rounded out by an offering of Morgan Dollars, many of them from the Carson City Mint. As usual, there are offerings from just about all series including a nice selection of U.S. gold coins, bullion items, mint/proof sets and medals. Our April Coin & Currency Sale #40 includes a well-rounded selection of coins across the board from US Half Cents thru Foreign Gold. Our Sale #357 in March starts off the 2025 spring philatelic season.

The sale begins on Tuesday, March 11th with a good variety of US covers & postal stationery lots including advertising covers, locals and a Canal Zone UF1a registered envelope. Our Foreign covers selection showcases some German WWII air covers from the Aegean and other Feldpost, Italian Offices and other accumulations.

Coin & Currency Sale #39 is highlighted by a wide selection of scarce Liberty Seated Quarters and Halves from a recent estate liquidation. Included among the quarters are 1855-O (PCGS F-15), 1857-S (NGC AU53), 1858-O (PCGS XF45), 1864-S, 1870-CC, 1871-CC, & 1872-S.  The halves include 1844-O Doubled Date, 1866-S No Motto, & 1871-CC among many others.  The numerous gold offerings include a mint state 1878 $3 Princess (NGC MS61), and the very scarce 1859 $10 Liberty (NGC AU55).  Modern issues offer a 2016 Centennial Mercury Dime and  1991 4-Coin Gold Eagle Proof Set both in original packaging.  In addition to these, the auction is rounded out by an outstanding number of nice type coins, type set groupings, silver and gold foreign coins, mint and proof sets, and more.  This auction is one of the highest in terms of gross value so be sure to review the lots!

Our Sale #356 is in January 2025 and we hope to see you there!

Again, we are very pleased to say that we have an excellent selection of lots available, from single items to large collections and accumulations.

Our cover section includes a U.S. #433a just recently listed by Scott. We have a wide range of material including stampless, advertising, Airmail, Civil War, Naval, Parcel Post, topicals, philately and ephemera along with Zeppelins, FDCs, WW and so much more. Among our postcards is a very strong selection of Black Americana. There are many German Area including Camp Mail, Inflation, Nazi era and more. There are (2) of the earliest known correspondences from Norfolk Island from a descendant of the Bounty!

Our US Section highlights incl a #86, 132, 211 Blk, 244, coil waste blocks of #538 & 540. We also have a RW3 Plate Block/6, RW6 Plate Block/6 and a 213P5 used on small piece (2015 PF Cert “exceedingly rare variety, one of only (2) sound examples.”) There is also a DWI J8a sheet of 100 (possibly only (3) sheets extant). We also have a very strong showing of sets, collections and accumulations.

Our Coin & Currency Sale #38 features a wide array of sets and singles in most US denominations and types. Highlights among the type coins are an Indian Cent NGC MS63, a 1909-S VDB Lincoln in NGC MS63 Red-Brown, an 1864 Two-Cent (Large Motto) in NGC MS65 Brown, a 1901-S Barber Quarter in AG3, an 1880 Seated Half in Proof 60, an 1871 Liberty Seated $1 in XF and a BU Roll of 1887 Morgan Dollars. We are grateful again for the opportunity to share some highlights of our Auction #355 scheduled for November. We are fortunate to always have large groups of covers, U.S. stamps and WW stamps so we will just hit the highlights now.

In the cover section, a key piece would be the cover with (2) $5 Prexies and others used correctly in inner bank mail (Lot #6). There is a very nice group of Canadian Semi-Officials Airmail with excellent variety and value. There are a host of Zeppelin covers, U.S and German. Other cover lots include Italian Offices, stampless, maxi cards, topicals, FDC handpainted and stationery.

The U.S. section includes a 10X1, 10X2a, 99, 215 Block of 12, sheets of 614-621, Farley, press sheets, plate blocks of C13-C15, O68 used, 17P1 large die proof, 1213d and much much more.

In our worldwide section, the highlights include China 1042-1045, Germany Airmail Zeppelin sets NH, the U boat stamp, Uruguay 282-284 (only 500 sets printed) and so much more.

Sale 37 contains a wide selection of better type coins for the collector along with a few certified Indian & Lincoln Cents in higher grades, many original Lincoln Cent Rolls 1939 to 1948-D, a nice array of Seated Halves, and an 1844 Seated Dollar. The gold coin section offers (8) Certified Half-Eagles along with another (9) Certified Double Eagles.
